STÄTTE (RESTORATIONAL FICTION)
2012

Found old wooden beams are assembled to an object by precise selection and combination, without any additional sawing. The obvious materiality of the beams is covered by a layer of graphite applied under pressure. The metallike appearance of the beams evokes the idea of a cast, originating from a previously existing object which could only be imagined. Outlining an assymmetrical architecture, the beams describe a space that seems to have naturally become and remains precarious at once.
