BETWEEN STAGES
2013

Two cast U-shaped plaster bars are suspended in the room. Looplike and hanging freely, they frame the shifting view of the surrounding space. The linear shape drawn by the bars can be seen as a detour, a movement of delay, of curiosity, yet in the passive mode of a temporary suspension.
Additionally, two cast spatial elements in the shape of angled panels are positioned against two opposite walls, doubling the existing banding of the wooden paneling. They interact with the heterogeneous architecture of the exhibition space fractured by elements added over the years during renovations.
A slight shift of attention, a moment of difference is initiated by the simple sculptural elements which act as temporary stages for perception.
