KOMMENTAR
2015

A profile element is cast from plaster directly onto the wall, accurately fitting and subtly blending in the architectural conditions and ornamental structuring of the space. Resembling a usual profile at first sight, the cast profile separates the wall surface and carries on the fracturing of the wall areas through numerous frames, bandings and conduits. The cast profile is simply square and thus avoids an imitation of the rounded forms in the existing ornamental elements found within the building.
In the sense of a model intervention, the profile materializes observations on the surfaces of the space. Due to its dimensions and materiality, the „fitting piece“ acts as a temporary supplement to a given context – a comment on the architectural text, playing on habits of perception.
